About Me

Why Little Sparrow Speech?

In working with special needs children (of varying disabilities and varying abilities) I have often felt like they are the forgotten of society, or rather, that society wants to forget them. Many times over the years I have felt overwhelmed by the sheer need for help that these little ones require and how big a task it is. It can be easy to give up or get frustrated with the lack of progress or the magnitude of the job.

Yet, these little ones have value. What I do has value.

In the Bible we are told that two sparrows are sold for a penny and yet, not one of them is forgotten by God.

I have to hold fast to the promise that God places value on the things that the world often does not. These children have value. I have value. What I do has value.

I hope that together we can find encouragement in the small victories and the value in all of us.
